El Oasis de Manilva de la Paloma - Location & Things To Do

Location
The apartment is on the coast between Duquesa and Sotogrande only 300m from an unspoilt beach with its own beach bar and restaurant. It is situated within easy reach of many golf courses including the world famous Ryder Cup course at Valderrama, the Real Club de Sotogrande, the two courses at San Roque, the links course at Alcaidesa, La Canada , Duquesa and Estepona. Nearby villages along the coast include Sabinillas which boasts a long esplanade along the beautiful beachfront with many tapas bars and restaurants, the marina at Puerto Duquesa, the long sandy beach at Torreguardiaro and the marina at Sotogrande.

Inland from the coast, Manilva is a quaint white village dating back to Roman times and still today there are some remarkably well-preserved Roman Sulphur Baths and an Aqueduct. The designer shops, restaurants and bars in Puerto Banus and Marbella are about 20 minutes away and Morocco is only an hour’s boat trip. There are many local shops and supermarkets and in Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, close to Sotogrande, there is even an English butcher!

The nearest airport is Gibraltar (25 minutes away) with regular flights from London and Luton, and Malaga is less than an hour away on the new toll road.

Things To Do
Apart from golf, beautiful beaches and the many restaurants offering international cuisine there are a number of other activities on offer in the surrounding area.
Scubadiving – The nearest centre is the Happy Divers Club at the Atalaya Park Hotel between Estepona and Marbella
Horseriding – Lessons and hacks can be arranged at the ‘Escuela de Arte Ecuestre’ in Estepona and also at the Equestrian Centre at the San Roque Club de Golf. Why not play golf while the children ride! You can also ride on the beach at Tarifa!
Polo - Though not many of us can afford to play, watching is free! And there's nowhere better to see a game than the famous Rio grounds, dubbed the 'Wimbledon of polo pitches’ in Sotogrande.
Waterskiing – ‘Cable Ski Marbella’ in San Pedro is great for learning to waterski or for those wanting to improve. The cable system pulls skiers around a lake and can be set at different speeds for children and beginners.
Dolphin and whale watching - The Bay and Straits of Gibraltar have a large population of Dolphins and Whales. There are boat trips from La Linea, Gibraltar and Tarifa where you can see dolphins bow-riding alongside the boats.
Windsurfing – Take a trip to Tarifa for the best windsurfing and kiting but Alcaidesa and La Linea also offer many watersports.
North Africa – Take a day trip to Tangier (Morocco) from Gibraltar, Algeciras or Tarifa, or stay overnight. Hunt and haggle for bargains in the souk and colourful bazaars.
Safari ParkSelwo Park in Estepona is home to more than 2,000 animals from the five continents living freely in the animals’ natural habitat.
Amusement ParkTivoli World is just near Benalmadena (about 40 minutes drive east). There are many thrilling rides to choose from as well as a tiny tots section, restaurants, bars and a program of concerts - ideal for children and adults!!
There is a full information pack in the apartment with details of local attractions and things to do.
